Invitation to home-made meals with Margit, Julia and Jayden
- We arrive in idyllic Woringen a little later than planned – thanks to our longer than planned stay at the royal castles (more on this here).
- Julia and Jayden welcome us and the “social meal” become “social meals”, because first of all we have a snack. đ
- Julia has made waffles for us – njam! – and we eat them with cherries and whipped cream- How can it get any better than that?!
- Julia even makes some coffee for me with her Bialetti coffee machine – mega!
- The tap water jug has a sophisticated pouring system, which Jayden masters without any problems, but which causes me to put half the table under water.
- Jayden tells us about his school, which is just a five-minute walk away. He is now in third grade, learning English, calculations to 1000 and grammar.
- Julia then gives us a tour of the house/apartment: she has renovated the upper floor of Margit’s (her mom’s) house and the last time I saw it, everything here was still under construction.
- In the meantime, it has become a very cozy and beautiful apartment.
- We start with the highlight: Julia’s sun terrace, where she has sun all day long.
- They have divided their spacious living room into a dining area with a dining table and a chill-out area with a sofa – a brand new one that was just delivered yesterday.
- Next to it is Julia’s room with access to the second balcony, which stretches across the entire width of the west side of the house and which Jayden can also reach via his room.
- Jayden shows us a really fancy thing: the Toni Box, on which you place figures that then play audio books or music.
- I’m particularly excited about Jayden’s Lego airplane, which he received as a Christmas present.
- We continue in the kitchen, which is cleverly furnished.
- Then Jayden has to head off, while we finish our tour in my favorite room – the library.
- It’s great, I’m immediately impressed. I get even more excited when Julia shows us a book box with books that they have sorted out – and of course I immediately find some to take with me – nice! MatthĂ€us is less enthusiastic about me bringing home more books.
- In the meantime, Margit has come home and shows us the bed she has prepared for us in Maria’s room.
- And we find another highlight in the basement, the second part of which we had previously seen in Julia’s bathroom on the first floor: A laundry chute that comes out right next to the washing machine, so you can just throw the laundry in and poof, it’s in the right place.
- We chat a bit with Julia and Margit on Julia’s new sofa before heading down for dinner.
- Jayden soon returns and we enjoy the Tuscan meatballs that Margit has prepared for us – delicious!
- Afterwards, we make ourselves comfortable on Margit’s sofa corner and I admire the crib with the really finely carved wooden figures.
- Margit also shows us the large rotating crib, which is beautiful and which we set in motion with the help of candles – great!
- We chat more and Julia tells us about her time in Israel – really special – and shows us photos before we go to bed.
Saturday, 20.1.
Fresh bread and an amazing mountain panorama
- The alarm clock rings at 6:15 am because we have planned a ski tour today and have to leave early.
- Margit drives to the bakery, very kindly, and buys croissants and fresh bread – njam. And with that she’s almost the first person to shop at the bakery today!
- So we set off and, thanks to the clear skies, can admire an amazing mountain panorama almost during the whole trip.
